We had been told of the legends of the Skinwalker. An evil from Navajo lore, which was a human who could change into a half animal, half man creature. We never imagined we would run into one. We were looking for elk or moose to photograph when we heard something big to the east. We turned to look and saw what looked like a wolf skin stretched over a very skinny man. His face was most assuredly a wolf. He looked at us with a hunger and we slowly backed away. He started to move as if to attack when a bull elk ran into the glade. He darted for the animal and we ran for our truck. Our coffee was waiting. We all took a sip and thought of the moment we saw the Halfbeing Shifting Skinwalker.
