We were far out at sea. Our expedition was sounding the depths. I was enjoying my second cup of coffee when our crows nest yelled, "Sea monster off the port now." I ran to the side and looked. Something huge jetted underneath the ship. I looked off the opposite and saw a pod of whales. I took a breath, thinking it had just been a whale. I was ever so wrong. A big bull sperm whale broke the surface. He was wrapped nose to tail in tentacles. I knew we were seeing Cthulhu, the demon kraken. It raised the massive whale out of the water, rolled over and shoved the largest mammal on the planet into its beak. Just as quickly as it had appeared, the colossal returned to the depths wence it came. I finished my coffee, knowing I had seen the great Cthulhu, Kraken of old.
